Dr. Jacob Hettinger is originally from Lansing, MI. He received his undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. He then attained his degree in Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Worcester, MA.
Dr. Hettinger completed internships at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, WV; Clayton Eye Center in Morrow, GA; and Fenway Community Health Center in Boston, MA. He then completed a one-year residency in primary eye care and low vision with emphasis in ocular disease through the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Columbus and Chillicothe, OH. He has presented on various ocular pathologies including ocular melanomas and maculopathies. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and swimming.
