Dr. Sarah Guarascio is originally from Long Island, New York. She attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. Dr. Guarascio received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry in Manhattan. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and a two-time recipient of the Schnurmacher Merit Scholarship during her four years in optometry school.
Dr. Guarascio completed training in primary eye care, ocular disease including pre- and post-operative management, pediatrics, low vision services, specialty contact lenses, and vision therapy. Her experience includes internships at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northport, New York, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, a cornea and contact lens specialty private practice in Rochester, New York and the University Eye Center in New York, New York. She has traveled on a mission trip with Unite for Sight to Accra, Ghana where she provided eyecare to patients in remote villages in underserved communities.
Before relocating to Rhode Island, Dr. Guarascio was an associate optometrist at Advanced Eye Care Center, a medically based private practice with locations in Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce, Florida, for two years. She joined the staff at Westminster Eyecare Associates in August 2017. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, indoor cycling/spinning classes, and golfing with her husband.
